Percy Baker, known as role model to children, died in 2008 after working with center for 32 years.
The Peoria Park Board was unanimous in its resolution Wednesday to rename the street where Percy Baker Jr. dedicated 32 years to the Carver Center.
The move to rename two blocks of Third Street was initiated by the Carver Center board of directors, said Bonnie Noble, executive director of the Peoria Park District.
