Former Washington Redskin, Mayhew, 43, is one of only five black general managers in the league. He received his law degree after retirement.
Mayhew has always perceived opportunity, and people have often underestimated him. As a player, he did off-season humanitarian work in Africa and he bought his high school coach a new car. After retiring from Tampa Bay in 1996, he earned his law degree.
