Denzel makes $50,000 donation to Roswell Boys & Girls Club

Washington has a history with the Boys and Girls Club. He was a member of the Mount Vernon Boys and Girls Club, and is a spokesman for the national organization.

Actor Denzel Washington heard about the charity desperately needing $50,000 while filming the movie “The Book of Eli” in Carrizozo.

On Wednesday, he handed over a check for $50,000.

The club says Washington may donate even more down the road.
