OneUnited Bank won the US Treasury’s highest award for five consecutive years because of its community development lending.
OneUnited, the first black-owned Internet bank, boasts that more than 50 percent of their total loans have been to low- and moderate-income communities. Their loan volume for 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 was $153 million, $160 million, $155 million, and $182 million, respectively.
