Despite their tough upbringing, 19-year-old twins Christopher and Christian Loveare pursuing medicine, their first passion. But they’re also holding fast to a second passion — mentoring.
Both see medicine as a public service.
“I woke up one day and said, ‘I want to save 1,000 lives,’ ” said Christopher, who plans to study emergency medicine.
For Christian, who was a young Red Cross volunteer, medicine is a way to give back to urban communities. “I want to find cures to help people live healthy lives,” he said.
