Indiana State Bar Association picks 1st black leader

Roderick Morgan, a partner with Bingham McHale in Indianapolis, was named president for the 2009-10 term, the organization said today. The bar association board has 23 members.

“Although I am the first African American president of the state bar, I certainly hope it doesn’t mean that I’m the last,” Morgan said in a news release today. “Our efforts toward inclusiveness and diversity are essential to our growth. I look forward to leading the organization over the next year and increasing participation in the association.”
